But enough of this sad talk, I have some good news for you.  Franks is a small family owned business in Ottawa! In 2010, Frank's opened their first location on 283 Greenbank Road and with their great business practices, it led to opening their second location in 2020 on 1121 Meadowlands Drive. With that being said, not only does Franks offer the best sandwiches in Ottawa, it is locally owned. You will be getting a delicious meal as well as doing your part in supporting local during these times. I think that is definitely a win-win situation for all of us!

1) Number 27 - The Mean Jeanne

In my opinion, the number one sandwich at Franks is The Mean Jeanne - my go-to sandwich. This sandwich was the 2015 Sandwich Winner of the year. The Mean Jean has steak with fried mushrooms, onions & peppers, turkey breast, cheddar, lettuce, tomatoes, BBQ sauce, and chipotle mayo. Recently, I decided to switch it up and try the sandwich in a sun-dried tomato wrap since there are so many different bread options. Not only does it sound good, it tastes AND looks good too! 

2) Number 12 - Mad Girls Gobblers 

A close second is definitely Mad Girls Gobblers. Mad Girls Gobblers has smoked turkey, chicken breast, swiss, lettuce, mayo, tomatoes, onions and a special sauce. Recently, my dad got this option on a white bun and he loved how fresh everything tasted! 

3) Number 21 - The GodFather 

A marinated steak sandwich with mushrooms, onions, green peppers, lettuce, tomatoes, and a horseradish mayo. How delicious does this sound? My friend Megan can confirm that this is one of the most delicious sandwiches at Franks. Megan was born and raised in Ottawa but moved away from school. However, every time she is in town she makes sure that she pays Franks a visit to get The GodFather.  

4) Number 28 - The Four Horsemen's 

Smoked meat, smoked turkey, lettuce, tomato, pickled eggplant, special sauce and provolone. Mia's favourite Franks order is the Four Horsemen's. Like Megan, Mia was born and raised in Ottawa and enjoyed visiting Franks during highschool. She continued school in Ottawa and made sure to recommend Franks to her university friends as well! 

5) Number 7 - Lulu's Veggies 

To all my vegetarians out there, don't worry, I haven't forgotten about you guys! Franks also offers vegetarian sandwich options! Lulu's Veggies has Havarti, lettuce, tomatoes, pickles, hot eggplant and special sauce. This is a must-try vegetarian option for all of you!
